Leeds v Newcastle - Match Preview
After recording our 8th consecutive win in all competitions in the game against Cardiff, can we maintain the momentum after the international break, and continue our incredible form against Leeds at Elland Road?
Well, we’re definitely favourites to win this game, despite being away from home and Leeds being in good form too. The pressure is on us to win what could be another pivotal game in our season.
It’s not going to be easy though. Leeds fancy themselves to cause an upset and with 7 wins in their last 10 games, who can blame them? They’ve beaten Norwich twice in the last month, albeit once in the cup on penalties, as well as other clubs from up and down the table.
Leeds look to be without Pablo Hernandez, and Chris Wood is available to play after returning from international duty with New Zealand. Wood has scored in 6 of the last 7 games he’s played in at Elland Road, so it seems that he’ll be the main danger for us.
Newcastle, for once, do not have a string of injuries to several players. We have 26 players available for selection for the match, which is a nice change of pace, as I don’t recall that ever being the case in the last 4 seasons. One player we will be without though, is Rolando Aarons, after he damaged his ACL in training. Personally, I was looking forward to seeing him in the Championship as I believe he has a lot of potential.
Guessing the line up is almost impossible. I’m sure that Rafa knows exactly what team to put out to get a result out of the game, but hey, a bit of #PredictRafasXI fun never hurt anyone, right?
4-2-3-1: Darlow; Dummett, Lascelles, Clark, Yedlin; Shelvey, Colback; Gouffran, Diame, Ritchie; Gayle.
Predictions are a dangerous thing, but I’m going to chance it and go with 2-0 Newcastle!
