Everton v Newcastle - Match Preview

So, the drama of the transfer window is over, and what an absolutely fantastic month it was for Newcastle United. There is now absolutely no excuses for the club: we simply must stay up. Earlier in the season, in the reverse fixture, we were beaten with the last touch of a game, with a header from Tom Cleverley. Yes, Tom Cleverley. The performance wasn't too bad, but the familiar tale of not being able to finish our chances haunted us once again.
Before previewing this game, a simple reminder of our result last time out at Goodison Park:
Everton 3-0 Newcastle (Lukaku, 20, 56) (Barkley, 90+3) (Colo sent off for NUFC)
So what can we expect this time round? Well, we go into this game on the back of 1 win in our last 5 games, that being at home. We last won away from home at Tottenham in December. We've also had significantly more time to prepare for this fixture, given Everton's participation in the FA cup, whatever that is.
Team News: NUFC
It is thought that both Paul Dummett and Jack Colback are back fit, with Steven Taylor also likely to have a place in the match day 18. Andros Townsend is also in the squad, and will no doubt be pushing for a start as he looks to resurrect his career. Seydou Doumbia is travelling with the squad to Everton, however may not be involved if his Visa permits do not arrive in time. Other than that, the squad is as it was. Team News: Everton
Everton are going to be without first team goalkeeper Tim Howard, so Joel Robles is set to continue in goal. Injuries to Kevin Mirallas and Muhamed Besic mean that they'll both miss out. New signing Oumar Niasse is eligible to be in the squad, having been signed ahead of the deadline for Wednesday's game, although he is unlikely to start. My starting XI:
Rob Elliot Daryl Janmaat Fabricio Coloccini Chancel Mbemba Paul Dummett Moussa Sissoko Jonjo Shelvey Jack Colback Andros Towsend Georginio Wijnaldum Aleksandar Mitrovic To hear more NUFC related views/debate, follow me on Twitter: @kierancarr_
