Newcastle v Man Utd - Match Preview

Tuesday night sees us play host to Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United. This is a game which throughout the years has been a very tricky game to predict, and I personally believe that Tuesday evening will be exactly the same. Before we preview the game, perhaps we should look back at the results of the previous 5 results at St. James Park:

We go into the game with very much the same squad availability that we had for the game away at Watford. Jack Colback is expected to be available, as is Rolando Aarons for the first time this season and our “new signing” Manu Riviere will also be in contention. Of course, we still have Tim Krul, Vurnon Anita, Mike Williamson, Massadio Haidara, Gabriel Obertan, Papiss Cisse and Steven Taylor all missing out through injury, although some of those are closing in on returns.

For Manchester United, they will be hopeful of welcoming back Jesse Lingard from injury, a player who we were linked with in the summer of 2015. Phil Jones also looks set to be in contention having recovered from his muscle strains. Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw are all still out injured, which is a welcome boost to NUFC ahead of the tie. NUFC: The Last 5
